About

My name’s David Simpson and I’m a composer and orchestrator, currently living in Glasgow. Most recently I’ve been working with fellow composer, Iain Cook, on the CBBC sleuth drama, Half Moon Investigations. I’ve also been doing some bits and pieces with him on the third season of the BBC/Channel 9 cartoon, Dennis and Gnasher (based on everyone’s favourite Dundonian misanthrope, Dennis The Menace).
I was born in Salford in 1981 and graduated from Strathclyde Uni with a BA Hons (first class) in Applied Music, also receiving the Alexander Stone Scholarship and the Andrew Young Award for my composition and production work.
Following this, I’ve worked on various musical projects, a selection of which I’ve included below. Some of these are available to view or listen to elsewhere on the site – I’ve marked these where appropriate.
